Market Mindset: the complete trading psychology system
Finally Break Through the Psychological Patterns Blocking Your Consistent Profitability.
You can't achieve results you can depend on until you can rely on yourself to make the right decisions. Market Mindset gives you the science-based system to fix the patterns holding you back and build the conditions for your best performance to happen consistently.
You Know What You Need to Do. So Why Do You Keep Betraying It?
At the end of another week, you're looking back through the trades and you can see exactly where you went against yourself.
You can see the opportunity you were prepared for but hesitated and didn't take. You can see where you changed your risk, cut a trade early or forced a decision that went against the logic of your analysis.
You did the work. You understood the context. You formed a reasoned view. Then, when it was time to act, you didn't do the thing you knew you were meant to do.
That's the part that gets to you. You're not left wondering what happened. You know. You can see exactly where your actions went against your plan. And you can see what it's doing to the results you could be achieving from your trading.
Sunday night comes round and you promise yourself next week will be different. You mean it, even if you don't fully believe it anymore.
Then the next trigger arrives, and the same thing happens again.
You don't need another explanation of what you did wrong. You need to understand why you keep doing it, and what it takes to stop.
Your Earnings Follow Your Average Decision-Making, Not Your Best
You can be genuinely capable, put in a lot of hard work and still have terrible, inconsistent results. Your ability is only worth what you consistently show through the actions and decisions that affect your P&L.
You didn't start trading to be good in theory. You started because you wanted to make money from it, have more freedom and build results you could rely on.
If your average performance is far below your best, your earnings will reflect it. To raise your earnings, you need to know how to consistently perform at your best.If your average performance is far below your best, your earnings will reflect it. To raise your earnings, you need to know how to consistently perform at your best.
Achieving that future depends on much more than knowing what you should do. It depends on whether you can keep making the right decisions when you're under pressure, whether you can recover from a bad period without spiralling out of control, and whether the version of you that does the analysis is still there when money is on the line.
If you want dependable results, you need dependable decision-making. There's no alternative.
Every Time You Go Against Yourself, You Pay Twice
There's a gap between the version of you who does the work and the version who has to act on it. That gap is where a huge amount of trading potential gets wasted.
It's the gap between knowing what risk makes sense and changing it when you shouldn't. Between seeing an opportunity and being unable to commit to it. Between a process you can explain perfectly after the session and the decisions you make while it's actually playing out.
The gap doesn't just affect one trade. It lowers your standards and lowers your earnings.
You lose the profitable opportunity you were prepared for but didn't take. You cut profits short. You turn a manageable loss into a negative spiral that makes your next decisions worse. You pay for another prop evaluation without ever dealing with the major issues that lost you the last one.
Then you pay again in belief.
You pay for each mistake twice.
Every time you go against your own judgement, you take a little more trust out of yourself. You start the week already anticipating the mistakes you're going to make and where you're going to fuck it up. You stop believing that the person who makes the plan on Sunday is ever going to be the person who follows it during the week when money's at risk.
That is your psych capital: the trust and belief you've got left in yourself to do what you said you were going to do. And after enough weeks like that, it's not usually the money that runs out first. It's the belief that you can ever make this work. And when it eventually runs out, that's when most traders quit.
"Be More Disciplined" Is Not a Diagnosis
So you tell yourself it must be discipline.
That is what nearly every piece of trading psychology advice tells you, after all. Be more disciplined. Control your emotions. Trust your process. Have more confidence.
You read it, recognise yourself and think, "Oh my god, yes. That's exactly what I do."
Then nothing changes.
Because those are labels for the behaviour you can already see. They don't explain why you keep doing it.
Five traders can close the same position too early for five completely different reasons.
Closed the position too early
01
One may be carrying far more risk than their judgement can support.
02
One may have learned to escape uncertainty.
03
One may be reacting to a run of losses.
04
One may not yet have enough evidence to trust their original decision.
05
One may be trying to make demanding decisions in a state that makes clear thinking much harder than it needs to be.
The behaviour looks the same. The cause isn't.
So giving all five traders the same discipline checklist isn't a solution. It's guessing.
And if being told to be more disciplined were enough, you would have solved this already.
I Spent Years Trying to Be Emotionally Neutral. It Wasn't the Answer.
Founder · The Duomo Initiative
For years, I did what the industry told me to do.
I tried to become more disciplined. I tried to remove emotion from my decisions. I tried to control how I reacted to profits and losses. I tried to force myself to do what I knew I should be doing.
When I kept struggling with the same things, I thought the problem was me. I just needed to try harder.
But when I started researching this properly, I realised that much of what gets repeated as good trading psychology advice isn't only scientifically inaccurate. In some cases, it asks you to do things that aren't possible or wouldn't improve your decisions even if they were.
You can't remove emotion from decision-making. Emotion plays a necessary role in how you value outcomes and choose between actions.
You can't solve every difficult response by forcing yourself to behave differently at the last moment. By then, there may already be a whole chain of learning, interpretation, stress, physiology and previous experience affecting what you do.
Once I understood that, my trading changed. I stopped trying to be emotionally neutral and started treating difficult responses as information. I could prepare better, work out what actually needed attention and use a method that matched the problem. My performance became more stable because I was no longer just fighting the visible symptom.
That stability helped me move to trading full-time in 2012. And it mattered even more when I started trading for clients and achieving £100k+ days on my own account. At that point, you can't become a different decision-maker because the numbers are bigger. You have to keep applying the same logic and make the same quality of decisions when the stakes change.
That is what Market Mindset is built to help you do.
Market Mindset Turns the Problem Into Something You Can Actually Solve
Market Mindset is the complete psychology and performance training from the Duomo Trader Development Program, now available as a focused standalone course.
It's not another course that tells you to control your emotions, say affirmations or try harder to follow your rules.
It gives you the part that most trading psychology leaves out: a way to identify what is affecting your decisions, deal with it at the root cause and build the conditions for consistently better performance. Backed by real evidence-based scientific research.
Instead of finishing another week saying, "I know exactly what I did wrong," you start to understand why it happened, what needs to change and what to do before the same pattern takes another trade, another session or another part of your confidence from you.
01
First, find out what is actually happening
You learn how the brain and body respond to uncertainty, profits, losses, changing risk, market information and difficult decisions. You learn why the same visible mistake can need completely different solutions, and how to stop guessing at the issue.
02
Then, deal with the cause rather than the symptom
You get practical, evidence-based methods for the patterns that are damaging your trading. You can take preventative action before they affect your decisions, rather than waiting until you're already in the middle of the same old response and trying to force yourself out of it.
03
Finally, build the conditions for your best work to show up more often
You learn the scientific sequence for high performance. You build a trading schedule around when you think most clearly, learn difficult skills more effectively, develop the motivation that keeps you working over the long term and protect the quality of your decisions before you have even opened your charts.
One part stops you from throwing away the results you could have achieved. The other helps you improve them further. That is how you build performance you can actually rely on.
You didn't come this far to become somebody who recognises their mistakes after the session. You came here to make decisions you can stand behind while the trade is on, keep your performance stable enough to build on, and turn your trading ability into the income you're aiming for.
That's what you're building inside Market Mindset.
You know how to prepare yourself for a trading session. You know when you're at your very best and when it's better not to make an important decision. You know how to recognise a pattern before it wrecks the rest of your day. You have a way to work on the patterns that do keep showing up.
You'll close the gap between your potential and your reality.
You stop changing a process that made sense just because you had a bad day. You stop allowing a profitable period to pull you into risk you can't justify. You stop treating every difficult response as proof that you're incapable.
Over time, you become more dependable. Your decisions become more consistent. You give your actual trading ability far more chance to turn into the income you're aiming for, rather than watching it get wasted by the same mistakes every week.
You won't become perfect. But you'll have something far more useful: a professional way to prepare, respond and improve, rather than crossing your fingers before each week and hoping you don't do it again.
The Research Changes What You Do, Not Just How You Talk About the Problem
Anyone can add a reference to research and call a course evidence-based. The test is whether the research changes what you're taught to do.
×
"Remove emotion from trading"
Research into decision-making shows that emotion has a necessary role in judgement. The aim isn't emotional removal. It's to understand the emotion, figure out what it's telling you and use that information properly. Higher emotional intensity can lead to better market performance once you understand how to use it correctly.
×
"Be more disciplined to stop gambling"
When trading starts to look more like gambling, people are often told to use more discipline or simply stop. That misses the fact that uncertain rewards can create a stronger drive to keep taking action than predictable ones.
You learn how gambling tendencies develop, and how uncertainty, near misses and the anticipation of reward can pull you towards more risk and more trades even when you know that's not what you should be doing.
×
"Follow more markets to find more opportunities"
The brain is built to pay attention to novelty and unpredictability. In the markets, that can make new charts, new assets and constant information feel useful, even when they're pulling your attention away from the context you understand best.
You learn how novelty and complexity can lead to anxiety and confusion, why traders can become hooked on information rather than focused on being profitable, and how to create conditions that support clearer decisions.
The full course does this across uncertainty, emotions, market information, self-talk, decision-making in chaotic situations, profits, losses, gambling tendencies, learning, health and high performance.

Traders Who Have Finally Started Closing the Gap
"Knowing the science and the real root causes changed everything about how I trade. The things I learned didn't just make me a better trader, it's helped me in my personal and business life too."
Connor B, Dubai
"Nicholas goes through many other avenues - how to study, correcting up how our brains work and psychology, with actual research papers supporting what he teaches. This is a definition of a life-transforming program. I was astonished by the content beyond trading."
Filip B, Prague
"The best thing is how in-depth the explanations and research related to each topic are. It teaches you to be a great and professional trader. It's helped me in other areas of my life, especially through the psychology, because in this program, this topic is reviewed in much detail and every topic has a scientific fundamental or reference."
Eli S, Honduras
"I am an experienced learning designer by trade, and this course is a standout example of a course that is designed around you actually learning the skills, not just delivering a bunch of explanations. It goes advanced as well with an incredibly well researched extensive thread of content on trading Psychology combined with practical exercises to make the content more than of passing interest."
You do. We deliberately give away useful information because there's so much nonsense out there that we need to fight against. We believe you should be able to see how we think before deciding whether our approach is worth paying attention to.
But free content can only show you one part of a wider problem. It can help you recognise something. It can't give you the complete process for working out what is driving it, what you should do next and how to stop the same thing returning in a different form later.
You could try to build that yourself. You could find the research, work out which studies matter, learn enough psychology and neuroscience to understand them properly, decide whether they apply to trading and then figure out what to do with all of it.
You can do that. But it's a massive job. And while you're doing it, you're still trading with the same gap between what you know and what you can deliver.
20+ years of in-depth researchThe training is based on thousands of interconnected research notes built up throughout Nicholas' career.
Market Mindset gives you the research, the learning order and the complete connected system. You don't have to keep trying to diagnose yourself from another article, another video or another conversation with Claude.
What Is It Costing You to Leave This Unsolved?
If you have a trading approach you believe in, but psychology keeps stopping you from acting on it, you're already paying for that gap.
It costs you the opportunity you were prepared for but did not take. It costs you the profit you cut short because your response changed. It costs you challenge fees, avoidable drawdown and time spent changing rules that may not have been the problem in the first place.
Then there's the bigger cost. You keep learning more about the markets while earning far below the income your understanding should generate. Your good sessions keep paying for the sessions where your focus, energy and decision-making were nowhere near where they needed to be.
£497 is a fixed cost. Leaving this unsolved isn't.
£697 is a fixed cost. Leaving this unsolved isn't.
It keeps taking money from your account, confidence out of your decisions and time from the career you say you want.
At some point, you either solve the thing that keeps undoing your work, or you accept that it will continue to decide what you earn.

Is Market Mindset Right for You?
If psychology is what's stopping you
It's right for you if you have a trading process that makes sense to you, but your psychology and performance are stopping you from getting the best out of it.
It's also a strong starting point if you're serious about trading and want to build strong psychology and performance foundations before poor habits become entrenched.
or
If your method is what's stopping you
Market Mindset doesn't teach you a complete trading method. If your main issue is market understanding, forecasting, risk or building a logical process, The Duomo Trader Development Program (DTDP) is the better route because it develops the method and the trader together.
Questions You May Want Answered Before Joining
01Will Market Mindset make me profitable?View answer
No course can honestly promise that. Profit depends on the quality of your forecasts, risk decisions, execution and the opportunities the market gives you.
Market Mindset develops the psychology and performance side. If you have a viable process but psychology is stopping your actions from reflecting it, this gives you a proper way to deal with that.
02Can it help me pass a prop evaluation?View answer
It can help with the parts you control, including how you respond to losses, drawdown rules, pressure, overconfidence and the urge to force a result. It can't guarantee funding. Your market skill and the firm's rules still matter.
03I have tried trading psychology advice before. Why would this be different?View answer
Because recognising a symptom is not the same as understanding its cause. Market Mindset is built around psychology, neuroscience, behavioural science, neuroeconomics and performance research, then turns that into a connected process rather than another list of tips.
04I already know what my psychology problem is. Do I need this much depth?View answer
Knowing the label doesn't mean you know the cause. "Fear", "greed" and "discipline" can each describe several different mechanisms. The course helps you work out which one applies and what you should do next.
05What if it turns out not to be for me?View answer
You have 14 days to go through the material and decide. If it isn't what you needed, ask us for a refund and you'll get one, with no questions asked.
06Is Market Mindset included in DTDP?View answer
Yes. DTDP includes Market Mindset, the Cohesion Trading Model and the Duomo Trading Method.
Stop Leaving Your Trading Ability Trapped Inside Your Head
You already know what it feels like to see the right decision after the session and wonder why you didn't make it when it counted. You know what it costs to keep having that conversation with yourself.
You can keep making promises before the week starts, then watching the same patterns take money, confidence and time from you. You can keep reading advice that gives you a new name for the same problem.
Or you can finally give the part of your trading that is holding everything else back the serious attention it needs.
Market Mindset gives you the science, structure and practical tools to understand what is affecting your performance, deal with the patterns pulling it down and build the conditions for your best work to show up more consistently.
You came to trading because you wanted to make money from it, have more freedom and build a future with more control over what you earn. Don't keep accepting less because you never learned how to solve the gap between what you know and what you do.
